The details that make a room look finished.
Clean, glossy trim and a perfectly flat ceiling do more for a room than most people expect. We treat them as the craft they are.
Trim, Doors & CeilingsTrim, Doors & Ceilings in Brantford
Brantford's trusted trim, doors & ceilings crew.
Trim and ceilings are where a paint job either looks professional or does not. Brush marks on a baseboard, a wobbly cut line where the wall meets the ceiling, roller shadows across a flat white ceiling, these are the things you notice every day. Windfeld Painting puts the same care into the details as the walls.
We use hard-wearing enamel on trim and doors, the right flat finish on ceilings, and the patience to cut lines by hand.

Good to know
Straight answers before you book.
- Semi-gloss or satin enamel on trim is easier to wipe clean and makes walls look sharper by contrast.
- Ceilings are almost always best in a flat finish. It hides roller marks, drywall seams and the texture of stipple ceilings.
- Painting dark trim white is one of the most dramatic, cost-effective updates for an older home.
- Doors can be removed and sprayed for the smoothest possible finish, or brushed in place.

Questions
Trim, Doors & Ceilings FAQ.
Should trim be semi-gloss or satin?
Both work well. Semi-gloss is the traditional choice and the easiest to clean. Satin is a softer, more modern look. We will show you samples of each.
Can you paint a stipple or popcorn ceiling?
Yes, with the right flat finish and roller. If the texture is in poor condition, we can also discuss smoothing it first.
Do you paint over stained or varnished wood trim?
Yes. It requires cleaning, de-glossing, a bonding primer and then enamel, and it completely transforms an older home.
How do you get such clean lines?
Patience, good brushes and proper caulking. Cutting in by hand and using the right tape in the right places is a skill our painters take pride in.
